I'm New at this Affiliate Marketing so ... What do I sell Online?
The cool aspect of affiliate marketing is that as you progress, you begin to understand the term "keeping your ear to the ground". By that I mean that I kind of watch the trends in the marketplace and listen for new products that are being touted on the radio, news programs or in the newspaper. The media sometimes gives me the next great thing that I will sell online.
I have a friend who recently came to me with the question; What do I sell? Now, that's really not a dumb question. He decided to become an affiliate marketer, and realized the potential, set up a cool blog and website, then wondered what in the world to sell. It's a natural aspect of starting to be a marketer.
I told him to have a look around his house, and write down every item he bought in the last year. Clothes, computers, ipods, mp3 players, CDs, stereos, notebooks, kitchen equipment, and the like. Then I instructed him to do some search engine research to see how many times his selected items were searched for. I use a cool free service called Digital Point Keyword Suggestion Tool.
My friend realized that there is really some work involved in this business of affiliate marketing. After an afternoon of using the free tool, he determined that some of his selected items generate quite a lot of search queries every month. Yahoo! He now has his first project. His blog is now all about that product, and his website is a catalog of similar type merchandise. Hence, he is now quite absorbed in using some sound advice from me to get traffic to the sites to generate sales through his affiliate links.
What do you sell? The answer is sometimes located right in your own home. Shoes, kitchen gadgets, pet supplies, water filters, you name it! Whatever you buy, you can also sell through internet affiliate marketing. It's a gas!
