How to make money with Twitter

I do not really know how to make money using Twitter, but I have an idea. Since others can elect to follow you on Twitter, the obvious way to make money is to gather a large following of selected affiliate marketers, and then to recruit those marketers into a program or network under you. I have not tried this yet, but then again I have not tried much on Twitter. It has the abilite to allow hyperlinks in the blurbs you post, ot I suppose "twits" or whatever. The assumption I am making is the links are "nofollow" for search purposes, but they can be clicked and after the click the link is normal. If the link you place on Twitter is too big, they assign a tinyurl to it automatically, but the link still remains intact.

My friend Jacob in San Francisco uses Twitter to network with other Search Marketers, and they talk back and forth with it. In fact, he is the one who invited me to use it more. OK, but I need to figure out how to make it drive traffic and conversions or it is of no use to me. I am working on it, and it there is a way, I will find it.
